Maybe if people stopped watching so much porn and spent more time reading actual BOOKS, their spelling and grammar wouldn't be so deplorable.

JHC already.

Agreed. I've been reading books since I was little kid.
I dropped out of highschool in 9th grade.
I still managed to make a 728 out of 800 on my final GED Reading/Grammar scores. That probably has to do with reading.
However, people can still have other hobbies other than just reading and STILL be smart.

Did you miss the "paragraph" lesson? :D

She never said you couldn't be smart and watch porn, btw.

Yes, there is more that I need to learn considering I did drop out of highschool so early. That is why I am going to college.

Haha. Are you actually a teacher? I'm thinking of going for my teaching license sometime this year as well.

Heaven knows that I would love to actually be able to actually make lack of learning painful.

Oh dear, you actually took my response seriously.

In the absence of knowing your posting style, and considering that there is no ironic little winkie-poo emoticon in your original post, yes. Why wouldn't I?

Because I'm the one where you could prove your point on, and that's why you took it seriously.

But ofcourse I might be wrong and you really didn't think a second time about it and just thought that I might be a naive little girl that forgot about google.

I hate when people text me and say "Hey gurl i went to da store n bought sum chipz wut u doin."

Is there some reason you're so argumentative? Most people are too lazy to google for their own purposes and prefer to make other people do the work for them. So wow, kudos to you for being able to actually find a word definition.

I am, yes. lol

Teaching is a great calling and one which I love, however, the job climate in some states is so bad that education budgets have been decimated. I have not been able to find a full-time teaching position in my subdiscipline, so I'm re-educating myself in a health care field. Oh, the irony.

If you have a strong background in math or science though, you might be in luck. They always need good math and science teachers. It also depends on your state. I was just unlucky enough to be re-entering the job market at the time of a huge budget crunch.

I have an IT background and have been tutoring on and off for most of my life, as well as a few actual teaching jobs. Next year, I might actually be working for a college for a specific technical course.

It is very unfortunate that for a job that really does so much good, and is so very much a calling, it is so miserably paid. I've never quite understood why education is so short-changed in the States and I don't really think that having a math or science background changes things that much. It just pretty much sucks to be in education; college level is a bit better, with endless tenure fights.

Hooray for the noble calling. But its not something, in the end, we really get to choose, but be glad and hopeful that maybe our work will do some good in the end. I do know for certain that $16/hr isn't enough to motivate me to face a high school class again, though.

Um, no. I usually just assume that people are too lazy to use Google.

As I said, your post lacked any indication that you were being ironic. Strictly written communication does not have the benefit of paralinguistic cues that face-to-face speaking has: body language, tone, inflection etc. This is why emoticons, as annoying as they can be if overused, are so helpful.

Had you written your post like this:

your intent would have been perfectly clear. As it wasn't, I assumed that you didn't know what it meant and were too lazy to look it up on Google or, God forbid, in an actual dictionary with paper pages.

Oh, no kidding. You really have to love it for that pay. I preferred high school most of all in the K-12 range. Middle school was the most challenging age for me to deal with. lol I still have nightmares at times. :p

I loved teaching adults best of all, but those positions in universities are extremely hard to find.

Your last sentence is trying to imply that I never read books, let alone touch such a strange object from hell? If so what a shame that you're assuming something like that already about a person.

Also, you obviously don't have body language etc. online. but the other side of that is that you would never know how I would express my sarcasm in real life. Thus making a false accusation about a point that we differ per person/personality in.

But we obviously differ from opinion too much to ever get to a point of agreement, I just call an end to this discussion since it's being utterly useless. Unless of course you feel the need to continue this in any way.

Well there are some Marquis de Sade novels I can't read without getting a boner...

So you can get turned on and maybe learn a little grammar at the same time ;)

Actually it's useless because from the beginning you seemed determined to take offense to my innocuous post in response to what I thought was a straight question.

But for the love of GOD, let's end it. This has become tiresome.

That's the spirit! The bonus of those novels is that you get some history in there as well. :D

lol, dieter

i deny paragraph format and don't use capitalization,

just to annoy shesafrozenfire

(i've also been known to divide a sentence with an unnecessary comma, skip a line, and type the second half, and top that all off with absolutely NO period at the end)

lol

my writing style in forums is like stanzas
