Well, for school I have to write a poem using as many concepts of horrible poetry as possible, trite language, inverse, etc. And here is what I wrought
I remember the day I swallowed a fly
Twas a horrible day I thought I would die
On my back I did lay, watching white clouds
Never before was silence so loud
Thanks to the fly, my voice it was gone
I thought I would perish, my end was anon
I did my best not to freak, but panic I did
The fear on my face could never be hid
I tried hard to cough, but my throat it was clogged
I was dying inside, I was sick as a dog
Like newly set jello I gave one final lurch
And spat the poor fly out onto the dirt
It's thin wings still wincing it fluttered around
Till I brought down my foot and flattened it down
My heart it did wrench when I saw that squished fly
But weep I did not for I was alive...
