a few years back while I was working as a painter, we did a job for an 80 something yr old man. as he cleaned out his closet, he took out this old guitar case and told me he bought this back before 1940..
once he realized that I was a guitar player, he offered to sell it me, telling me how some guy wanted to buy it from him a year before but he knew he wasn't a player and didn't want him to have it.
so anyways, I made a deal to take it off his hands for $200 (I had no idea what it was or its worth, just thought it would look cool hanging on my wall)
I got it home and went to me pc to google the name on the head.
turns out I got lucky for once in my life lol
it was a 1934 National Style-O in close to perfect condition. in its original case.

it was the sweetest sounding guitar you have ever heard.. especially if you like bottleneck blues.
I played it and kept it for about 2yrs and then ended up selling it to an antique guitar dealer for $5,000usd.
