I wrote this poem (and a bunch of others) to make up for an extremely sad poem I wrote a while back. I didn't post it, but if people want me to, just ask.

Bruised and Beaten

I return from my fight, beaten and bruised
And now I’m here standing before you
Are you surprised that I made it back?
Anyone else would have failed with the skills I lack.

I focused on the power that I did contain
My unstoppable will that I had to maintain
I wasn’t afraid to test my limits
I enjoy the danger and fit right into it

You thought I was weak and wouldn’t survive
Your face is covered in a coat of surprise
I don’t care if you thought I’d succeed
If I think I can, then I’ll finish the deed

What would you have done if been in my fight?
Could you even handle to watch the vicious sight?
If it was too much, just close your eyes
And wait for the moment when you gave in and died

I’m not you, so I’m not afraid
To fight the terrible and darkened day
I fought my best and now I’ve returned
I don’t care that my crippled body is what I’ve earned

You think I’m nothing, but I’m so much more
I always will fight; it’s what I’m here for
A powerful soldier is who I am
I stand bruised and beaten, but I still stand
