Of course it's different. Learning human anatomy from books is different from cutting somebody open and checking them out, too. I just find it weird that people will totally give up on something they really want to do because they don't have somebody handy to show them. There are tons of people out there who learn to do things without being taught. I taught myself how to play six instruments. I am teaching myself how to sculpt. I taught myself basic home repair.

If you're afraid to try a flip by yourself because you think you'll get hurt, go to a gymnastics class. Flips are one of the first things they started working on with my kid. Can't find a gymnastics class? Post on Craigslist, saying you want somebody to teach you how to do a flip. Probably cheaper than a gymnastics class, really.
