I live in a big city. An especially weird big city (Las Vegas) so people are used to things far worse than goths running around haha.

It is a shame that this happened though. You should no longer go to that particular establishment and ask your friends to do the same if they can help it.

Speaking as an ex goth or lapsed I should say thats a bit crappy. However no where near as bad as the case of Sophie Lancaster who was beaten along with her boyfriend solely because they were goths. He escaped with his life she however did not. So lets put this not getting let into a place because of how you are dressed slightly in perspective.

No one is trying to demean something worse than getting kicked out. I don't think LK was calling us to arms, just saying it sucked. They caught the kids that did that to Sophie and punished them accordingly (by law at least), so we can be thankful for that.

This is just another example of how we're not as evolved as we'd like to think.

Well I don't think that fact they caught the people makes much difference. In my opinion the whole tone of the post if pretty much over the top for what is essentially some people not being allowed somewhere for what they are wearing. That happens all the time for 100 different reasons. Heck I don't know just seems like something you should get over.

Would you rather the people who did it be running around? I know it's not the death penalty but having them locked up is better than nothing. A girl from my old high-school was just raped, beaten and burned to death. They caught the kid, now he's not going to do it again. Is he dead? No. Are my loved ones safe from him? Yes.

It's not the action so much that bothers people but the fact that we're not beyond that stage yet as a society. I'm pretty sure people are over it they're just venting and talking about it. No ones asking anyone to come in here and read this. And it does happen all the time for who know's how many reasons. Which is even more reason to fight it. Why has it became such a casual occurrence? The more you let people get away with the more they tend to test the boundaries. If people being overdramatic for no reason is bothering you then I'll have to quote what a very wise person once said...

I was just about to write the same thing, but now I can just do a +1 here. I agree with you, annik, it would be a bit out of proportion to talk about the demise of humanity (sort of I was getting at before) based only what happened to Lone Killer's friends. It just that makes you a wee bit frustrated, in general -> as FunkyBuddha was saying.

Well no I wouldn't want them free but I also wouldn't want them dead. I thank the lord we don't have the death penalty here. My point is it happened. It still happened whether they are free, in prison or dead. That's the awful thing thats the prejudice. That's what we need to fight thats what we need to be shameful about not whether some people got refused entry to somewhere. Try getting in Stringfellows in trainers...is that the end of civilization too?!

Nevada was crazzzzy....man
I lived in RENO the a small town ELKO...

ElKO is an old minning town. Its still kinnda like the wild wild west.
Some people are very rouddie...
Thats all there was to do in Elko as far as entertainent...Bars , strip Joints, whore houses and Casino everywhere
And theyre all open 24/7s....

The mentally in Elko is..thats women are pretty much treated like honeysuckle.

Crews of men doing rotate shift at the mind..So theres always a crew of lonely dude getting off work... And all they wanna do is just get honeysuckle faced and fresia women to blow off steam or whatever.

The laws and regulations are different.

The economy of that town centers around that entertain honeysuckle...So its not like the cops are going to arrest every pick that acts out..They let them get away with it more...The COPS are city workers...no matter how you go about it.

Annik I agree with you completely.

But that wasn't the original topic. LK was complaining about how he had been treated unjustly on a small scale. I don't think anyone compared it to the tragedy of Sophie or had intended to. Which you jumped to.

It's not a huge deal to get kicked out or refused service. But people *****. It's in our nature. Now if they started to riot because two people were kicked out then I'd start to wonder why they were making such a big deal. This is a lowly thread on the internet, also known as, not the end of civilization.

I doubt its even unjustly. Its just one place with a crappy policy. They are the only people who lose out. They lose the business there and then and the business because I doubt they will go back. It's just one idiot. I'd have thought that and then moved on I wouldn't bother to then go and moan online.

The post is confused. Had it said this happened ain't that crap. I would have said yeap. But it doesn't it goes from that to society going to hell (?!) and terrorism and what not. If he can't even keep it on topic why should I. I was merely saying it's pretty small in the scheme of things. Hell when I was a goth I got spat at even thats worse that what happened here.

But now you're moaning online about people moaning online... that was my point.

I feel like one more person in the world hates me...

:p

Apologies if I've been pushing your buttons annik. I tend to argue for the sake of argument. You have a lot more vested in this emotionally than I do seeing as I've never been discriminated against in such a way (no one messes with a crazed white man especially when I used to run around punked out).

I see your point as well. Why make such a big commotion over something so small and jump to the general human condition of all things.

Thanks for the +1 Guld. Didn't see your post first time around. :p

I'm not moaning I'm discussing! Though yeah I see your point. :)

It's kinda the thing I always thought this about say feminism (yeah slightly off topic) if you moan about everything nothing will change and you just look whiny!

This shouldn't be turned into a massive "civil rights" for goths movement tbh. Sure, it's ok to get angry and I support your stance, they were wrong, completely. They are the one's who won't profit from your money! :)
