I live with Martin my 18 year old brother in a two storey apartment which Dad left us after he died. I can't stand my mother, so she agreed in writing to let me live with Martin. I work part-time as a junior assistant manager in a coffee bar, the rest of the time I write professionally. Occasionally I have episodes of OCD.

I joined this forum because although having a few good friends I am lonely at times. But I think I can share what I know and give what I can. This January I shall be 17 and intend passing my driving test. My name is Anna, but I prefer to be called Mouse. :)

This is an interesting place Mouse, hope you find some inspiration here.

17 and estranged from your mother- sorry to hear that. I suspect you've had to do a lot of growing up fast due to life's circumstances. Keep your chin up:)

Thank you for what said, L_BC. My childhood ended the moment I slammed the door on Mother and walked away.

I'll share what Mother did. While Martin was helping me clear out my room, I saw an unfamiliar book. One gets to know one's beloved books, but this one didn't seem as if it belonged to my collection. Opening it I discovered nestling inside was a webcam, its tiny lens fixed in the book's spine. The book pointed at my bed.

I was furious. Martin went to our mother's computer to discover files depicting me. Also pornographic files of her internet activity. He saved the files to two flash drives. I lodged one in a safe deposit box in my bank and the other Martin sent by registed post to our mother with a covering note to meet at my lawyer's. There, with my lawyer present and his staff acting as witnesses, Mother signed away her parentage of me so that I may live with my brother. My growing up began the moment her ink dried.

Two years ago Martin and I met some lovely people while on a cruise with Dad who was terminally ill. Last year they invited us to live with them. After poor Dad died I had the opportunity of buying an apartment next door to them, so we are not entirely alone.

Growing up quickly was difficult. But I could cook, for Dad showed me how to. He also gifted me with his writing ability, although he was a yacht broker. I owe everthing to him and to Martin. The rest is pure tenacity and a will to survive.

Thank you, everyone, for your welcome.

Love, Anna Mouse

Howdy! Welcome! *hugs*

Welcome to the site. Despite what you've been through you seem to have your head on straight.

Thanks N_P and SF, it's good being here.

Sometimes I get a bit wobbly, but most of the time I'm placid. Except for doing Sainsbury's tonight. That is when I popped 2mg diazipam. lol

Holy Hell Anna Mouse! (If you don't mind the longer name)That is quite the story.

Nice to meet you!
