Dunno about dolls but im interested in seeing how far ai can come along in this area.

And id assume the younger dolls are more popular just for the fact that they are probably cheaper to produce and are not as heavy. More easy to maneuver around and position them in the right ways for easy use. It takes less material to manufacture them. Probably a cheaper way to break into the "doll love" thing. But instead of thinking about things rationally lets just jump to the conclusion that its a buncha pedos that wanna fresia kids.

I think they are damaging, but I am someone who thinks porn is damaging as well.  I believe it's important for people to control their thought life, just because you don't act on thoughts, doesn't mean you aren't responsible.  While dolls are different than porn, they aren't a sexual "aid" - and I feel that someone becoming dependent on a lifelike image of a person, contaminates their mind.

What to do with these sexual needs, those lonely people who cannot find relationships.  That is a tough judgement call, and while I wouldn't condemn anyone using dolls in the privacy of their lives, I'd just say I wonder what consequences their would be.  Something I might google later, maybe think about a different response if this thread continues.

Thanks for your response and yes it is difficult to know whether overall it could be a helpful aid..do you think having at least something resembling a social life is a factor I can see that if someone were looking for a doll to compensate in to many areas it could be a real problem and just create even more internalisation do you think having something at social life.... no

I like your style and thanks for your reply...but at the risk of bringing the dog out of its cage yet again... I'm not convinced by what your saying ...The manufacturers intent seems pretty dubious in that particular area .

For the individual it might be a constructive way to deal with the perceived failure in finding a partner. When somebody finds themselves in such a situation, anything is better than dying alone and emotionally crippled, so having something to treat with love, care and intimacy might be better than nothing. The (sexual/romantic) intimacy part is important here, because otherwise these people could just get pets and be happy with it. But that's obviously not enough.

From a broader perspective it's quite a terrible admission for society as a whole. Something is obviously wrong and there are many theories which attempt to explain this phenomenon. Personally I won't blame pornography, because it has been around for ages and there are healthy ways to utilize it. The trend of sex dolls/bots is somewhat controversial, but it's not a problem in itself if approached properly - if anything, it is a symptom of another problem.

Lastly, to address the questionable "youthful" appearance of some of these dolls. I don't know exactly what you are referring to, but may I conjecture most of these resemble people of Asian ethnicity? Because that might explain some things related to attractiveness and the relevance of youthful features which are most prominent in Asians.

<do you think having at least something resembling a social life is a factor I can see that if someone were looking for a doll to compensate in to many areas it could be a real problem and just create even more internalisation >

In my own personal opinion, I think there is the potential for a person with social dysfunction of any kind, to become dependent upon say, a life-like doll. Maybe even obsessive, which could cause further isolation and even less social opportunity.

sothatwasmylife you're having issues quoting?

Looks as though he is, and also cluttering up the thread in a sense. Sothatwasmylife, can you please figure out how to correctly quote people, for clarifications and to not to continue to cause any confusion. You reply after the square bubble in a reply quote.

Also, I requested for the child-talk to cease. So make it stop, please. Thank you.

It has nothing to do with being brain dead
It's about making sure children ard protected and making sure pedophile behavior is not condoned or promoted in ANY way

And maybe if you had chosen to actually read my post in context you may have deduced that it in no way promoted  unjustifiable behaviour quite the reverse...maybe if you were a little less inclined to jump onto your moral high horse your input would be of more value

Wow moral high horse ?
Sorry for not stooping to your level

Don't fret.... Headline reads "Talking Sex Robots with Warm Genitals Will Be On Sale Next Year"

From what I can make of his posts it doesn't seem like sothatwasmylife was condoning dolls made to resemble children (ugh!)
This could, as someone suggested have the power to exacerbate social isolation and lead people to feel even worse about themselves. Then there's the added shame if people are found to have these things in their homes.
The idea of "intimacy" with a doll as a substitute for a human being doesn't seem like it will ever really be socially accepted.

As soon as they make one that can do the laundry and iron i'm getting one!

People are whack. I remember bitter feminists praising the ability to have children "without a man" due to artificial insemination. I remember bitter feminists praising the ability to have children with "artificial sperm." I don't hear them cheering so loudly for the artificial womb, the impregnated male, or the genetic clone. They were praising the supposed obsolescence of males while simultaneously failing to see that the elite have undertaken a campaign of obsolescence against humanity itself.

I've read the thread from the beginning and I agree mostly with what Rodent said - much of this is symptomatic of other problems/issues.

I must also agree that sothatwasmylife's discussion topic was immediately lifted out of context and cast into some dubious light. It would be like me saying "I am going to an ice cream social at my church this weekend, it's going to be so tasty!" and someone immediately replying "NO DISCUSSION ON RELIGION. YOU SAID THE WORD CHURCH."

^Oh boy, I remember reading some of those Feminist articles a few years ago and they were so gleeful over men supposedly being worthless whilst they didn't even seem to realize that the same would apply to them as soon as artificial wombs were made.

Seems anything remotely controversial immediately disappears from view..and I don't mean taking a particular stance that maybe belongs in the up for debate thread ... I've noticed this time and time again...it's as if the forum is being moderated clandestinely by a very heavy, very intolerant hand...maybe this explains why activity here is so painfully sparse.
I fully expect this post to be be spirited away pretty much as soon as it appears.

First of all, we don't if ever delete a thread/post, so maybe instead of attacking us you probably clicked on preview instead of post. When someone asks us to delete a thread/post we decline and close it instead. I've checked our logs and no thread or post has been deleted by any of the moderators here. Personally had I seen your post originally when you made it this thread would have been closed, not deleted, CLOSED. So before you want to go accusing people of things they did not do, check and make sure it wasn't an error on your part and ask us.
Thanks.

Haha. Right. If I were them, I would use the *artificial sperm* to help men who suffer from infertility, instead of directly handing them to the *feminists*.
But I disagree with what you said about religion. Not disagree to be exact, but I think that *debating* is not allowed. Not sure about discussion. As I have seen a few threads that have religious discussions. As per my observation, I think its safe to speak about the philosophy or idea of religion in general, but not about any religion in particular. But again, I am nobody to say anything on behalf of the website.
