Pregnant dad Thomas Beatie shows off his inner-Demi Moore in a photo sure to cause double-takes the world over.

"I feel fantastic," Beatie told Britain's News of the World, which published the photo yesterday. "I cannot wait to see my baby's face."

Beatie, 34, had a sex change 10 years ago but kept his ovaries and womb for just this possibility.

"I feel on top of the world," he said.

The money shot of Beatie shows him nude and caressing his bundle of joy, reminiscent of Moore's headline-grabbing 1991 cover photo for Vanity Fair.

Despite their unorthodox relationship, Beatie and wife Nancy said they're considering having more kids - but it wasn't clear which one would carry the infant.

"We might even have more children. We will just see what the experience is like with our daughter's arrival first, and then give it some thought."

The mom-to-be said having a child is a "human desire."

The Oregon couple tried to have kids in 2006 but Beatie miscarried with triplets.

"It was always a clear decision that we wanted to have children and for me not to remove my organs," he said.

"Wanting to have a child is neither a male nor female desire, but a human desire."

Beatie said he and his wife can't wait for their special day to come.

"I'm 36 weeks now, and almost due, but I feel fantastic," he said.

The newspaper published several pictures of Beatie, including shots him of in a bathtub and shaving while his impregnated tummy hangs on the edge of his bathroom sink.

The bathtub shot shows huge scars on Beatie's torso, where surgeons flattened his breasts.

The paper also ran pictures that show what Beatie looked like as Tracey Lagondino - when he was a cute little girl and teen beauty queen, growing up in Hawaii.

"We have her nursery ready and her diapers are lined up in her bedroom," Beatie said. "Everything is ready to go."

First of all, that article isn't complete. I don't see the name of the newspaper/website and writer neither at the top nor bottom.

Hehe, i think You've misunderstood our definition of the word "essential", Intolerable. This sure doesn't help many, if You know what i mean.

A lot of threads and posts could have gone under the banner of weird but true, but those fit well in the board they already were created in anyway. Threads like this one aren't important enough to deserve their own board, in my opinion.

well...he could be or she could be a great monther or father ofcourse but our society isn't ready for this. Imagine the mocking that she will undergo in school....i mean i think this is TERRIBLE and INTOLERABLE lol.....bad idea, they do what they want with out thinking about what it will be like growing up for that little girl when her daddy was the only pregnant man in the world...oh dear dear

Well there are lots of messed up ppl that have like loads of kids. So who's to say that kid wont turn out great.

And to be honest about what society wants. well toth poo. Its happening anyway. I say good look to them.

Don't get me wrong I do fined it a bit weird but its not bothering me and if the child has a loving home then that's something a lot of kids dont get and having a loving home is one of the most important things to have.

u know what is interesting? If in 18 years she publishes a book about how much she hated it...she might. Screw the society its sick ofcourse. What i meant was that she might not be able psychologically to withstand the peer preasure. Highschool is hell for some normal kids, I know it wasn't heaven for me.

well there is gay ppl that are adopting kids and kids that have drunk parents and drunk parents and even kids that are abused in the most sick ways imaginable. So who's to say that this kid might not be popular at school and use it to there advantage. I mean what is normal now days anyway. But ye I hear what your saying. School was no fun for me nether. But I think there well always be a reason to pick on someone if you look harder nuff.
