A quick note: What I do from now on, is write all my poetry during the weekdays. Then over the weekend, I type everything up as well as share my favorites. Just saying.
Darkness In The Sunset
We’ve all been to a beach to feel the cool ocean breeze
The feeling is soothing and accepted easily
I just look to the horizon from the place I stand
As I wiggle my toes in the soft but dry sand
The ocean is active and constantly moves
As it pushes the sand creating neat little grooves
Everything is calm, but there’s darkness in the sunset
It’s completely black where the sun and water connect
The sun’s yellow shines so strong and bright
So this dark is strange like the end of light
The ocean is blue as it reflects the day’s sky
I’d never understand that dark no matter how hard I tried
The dark in the horizon was no cause for alarm
It was so far away and could do no one any harm
I take a step closer with water at my feet
The water itself is more or less bitter sweet
Should I be concerned about the horizon’s dark?
It doesn’t cover the sun; it’s only where it starts
The ocean itself is welcoming to me
Perhaps this darkness isn’t evil, is what I believe
It doesn’t seem cruel like the dark in my life
It has a positive sense almost like it is right
I only wonder what causes the dark to form
Why is it there to make the sun and water torn?
