This has been my favorite type of music this year and I'm getting into this kind of music even more now. I was just wondering if anyone else listens to this type of music? Haven't met many people who enjoy this kind of music so I just decided to make this thread. Hopefully someone else will see this and like to talk to me about this type of music. =) Found a lot of amazing bands so far but I'd like to find more that I can enjoy listening too. Can't seem to get enough of this kind of music!!

Heloo!!

I had to look up these genres but its similar to what I sometimes listen to on stereomood. The only bands I know of that are chillwave/shoegaze types are Houses and Dulcesky. Am I close? :D

But very nice music indeed!

I know of some artists that might fit into this category, I'll list some of my personal favorites:

Sigur Ros
Enya
Enigma (pretty much my all time favorite, see first 4 albums)

For a generally vocal-less ambient:

Biosphere
Global Communication
Steve Roach

YES! Man I love me some Sigur Ros :D

Yea, actually I do like it. It's kind of a newer version of psychedelic rock, which I also enjoy. And the dreampop/shoegaze scene in the '80s UK was a huge influence on two of my favorite bands: The Brian Jonestown Massacre (first album, at least) and the Smashing Pumpkins. Here's some favorites:

Skafish beat me to it...was going to suggest My Bloody Valentine/Kevin Shields. Jesus and Mary Chain come to mind, as well The Flaming Lips.

Although they get lumped with dream pop...I don't really see it...The Dandy Warhols aren't that bad.

Also, check out the soundtrack to Lost In Translation as it featured quite a bit of dream pop. Note - if the Peaches - F*** The Pain Away song is on that soundtrack, you might want to dismiss that one.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who knows what's good! To me, their second album is still the best. I think I'm possibly one of the few who also liked their first (experimental) album, worth a listen if you can get into some pure ambient with dark overtones. :D

I remember this album! I guess I don't know what Dreampop, Chillwave or Shoegazing are in terms of sound. When I listened to Ride all I heard was a weird continuation of The Smiths and Joy Division.

Ride is shoegazing. Haven't listened through their whole discography yet, but this one is definitely shoegazing. Good stuff :D

Yes, I love these types of music!
