The journey of life puts you on a path
Every choice you make chooses how you will last
Luckily we don't have many choices to make
But making these choices is no piece of cake.
The paths that we walk may be right, may be wrong
Every decision we make sings it sad final song
But a choice is so pure, why take it back
If it motivates us with it's quick rhymic claps.
Turn and look back, towards the start of this walk
Always falling behind but never at a stop.
It's not like the view when we look ahead
We could stop walking, we could fall over dead.
With that in my head, I plead you to go
The trip will be scary, unknown, and so slow
But think about the end of this impossible task
You will reach your great goal, you will make it at last
Wait, a goal? What could I mean?
Just open your eyes so you'll see what I've seen.
For at the end of this path, this long lonesome trail.
Is something amazing, not hallow or frail.
At the end of this trail lies a tall steel plated door.
Covered top to bottom with a darkened decor.
Surrounded by nothing, not a stone or a tree.
You simple stay at the door thinking, "It's only me."
At your surprise, the door opens with a creak and a moan.
But you can't run away as the mighty door groans.
Stay as strong as you can, with the creaking now ceased.
The quiet's not soothing, and you feel of no peace.
Inside there is nothing, not a sound or a sight.
Only darkness that thrives with all of it's might.
Something inside you tells you it's ok.
Somehow by gut feeling, you just aren't afraid.
With one brave last breath, you take a step in.
Not sure what will happen, or what will begin.
The door closes behind you, with a powerful slam.
You bang on it once, almost breaking you hands.
Again by gut feeling, you turn completely around.
You feel a safe feeling tearing yourself off the ground.
Before your eyes a light somehow appears.
It completely destroys you worries and fears.
You simply stare, not knowing what to do
As it's safe embrace pulses quickly through you.
The truth of the matter, of this amazing bright site.
Is that it's proof that within darkness lies the greatest light.
