I miss the sound of your laughter, and the sound of your voice
If I could only hear them again, it would be reason to rejoice
Those sounds make my skin tingle, and my ears feel warm
They're the most beautiful sounds that could ever take form

I failed to keep you safe, and just wasn't there in your darkest hour
I couldn't protect you from the faceless dangers, I didn't have the power
You're so kind, warm and caring, yet we had our demons inside
It seems that it all went wrong, no matter how hard that we tried

We've had our ups and downs, just like a ship in a storm
And I hope that some day we can fix it all and reform
To take away all of those demons, and start again so pure
Because I miss you so much, to my pain you are the cure

when in doubt I find its always good to read other material and keep the mind guessing and thinking it makes the mind sharp and sparks creativity I'll stop hijacking your thread just wanted to let you know I enjoyed it

That was really nice. Kinda gives me some inspiration to try writing something since I haven't tried in a while. Only thing I've written recently was for someone I met on a mental health forum, though since I wrote it specifically for that person I'm not sure I'd share it at least not publicly.

Apologies

I offer you my sincerest apology,
Though I know it won't completely set us free,
I hurt you when I didn't mean to,
Now I'm left feeling quite blue.

Though it may be too little too late,
My actions weren't thought out very great,
But I understand it's hard to forgive,
So I can't help but feel bad and live.

The sinking feeling I'm left to dwell,
Knowing I put you through this hell,
It weighs me down in sorrow,
From minute to minute there's no break in the toil.

Yet I know how long it takes
To expect our friendship to be what it was,
It's something that'll take time,
But I must accept it, hurdle each hurdle and climb.

A broken man stares in disbelief
His shattered dreams lay at his feet
His pain is deep, his tears run free
It's all so hard, it's hard to see

His mind is fogged and his heart is weak
He's been through a lot so it's hard to seek
An end to this misery, a way to be whole
But the path is unknown, all the paths are too old

The sadness inside, it just seems to grow
He's lost in hopelessness and can't find a new road
No one around to see what he feels
Just a broken man crawling through his dark deals

He wonders if he can start anew
If his life could be worth living and his heart turn blue
But for now he sits on his broken dreams
And all that's left are his broken schemes.
