What is something good in theory but just falls apart in practice?

For me it would be....

Communism

Sex with prostitutes

Going out with people

I agree with unacceptance, The justice system, communism, equality, and most importantly, love and friendship. Call me sour grapes but yeah, I have lived my life long enough to see that love and friendship are just only good on books and in the movies but suck really in real life...cause there is no such as love and friendship, just the need of the other person's company, that's all.

Why is Communism the perfect example? I am curious as to why you believe that communist nations that have still been around and in some cases prospered, are examples of failure.

I think dictatorship gets confused with communism.
Socialism is pretty close to communism..I guess.

Now..democracy is good in theory and really sucks big ass in practice
if you're on the bottom of the food chain..lol
I guess it helps if you can freely speak or express you mind
of how shitty life is..lmao
Verse...in a dictatorship...i guess you just hold everything inside.lol

Obviousely Jeffereson, Washington and the others were freaken slaves owners when they wrote the decorations of independent
or the constitutions.
Talke about theory and pratice being in conflict.lol
Or it wasn't ment to be for certain people...that's how the theory
was suppost to work.

Just like commuism..was only ment to be for the regular folks
not the guys on top..lol

That's why it's always nice to be on TOP.
I tell my gf that all the time..she likes it on top too.lmao

I agree with lonesome. There not anymore communist governments in the world anymore. Socialism and communism are quite close actually, hence people easily get confused.

Because if communism actually worked it would be the ideal system. Think about it, everyone is equal and everyone is working for the greater good of their society and not their own selfish needs and wants. In return society gives you equal housing, food, etc. Ideally there is no self interested aristocratic oligarchy commanding you. The is no racism, religious intolerance, poverty or any other factors of discrimination holding anyone down.

However, this system goes against the very core of human nature. I do not care what anyone says, we are all very selfish and self centered people. "Why should he get as much as I do when it is so clear that I do a better job?" Or, "If the end payment is the same no matter how good my work is, why should I even try to be the best worker?" Also, who or what is going to run and organize this system? Some benevolent person or party of humans only with the interests of the people in heart? The lure of power is far too great.

Now I'm not saying Capitalism is the end all be all. Our economy of recent times is indication enough of that. What I believe is ideal is a balance between the two systems, depending on the needs of a given society. Pure Socialism, like pure capitalism, is poison.

The main lesson to gather from the above: I use far too many rhetorical sentences.

In that case, the people fail, not the system.

Yeah pretty much. The debate is that it slows down crativities in
a socialist or commuism. A certain percentage of the population
would turn into couch patatos.lol
At the other end of the spectrum of catitalism, pure greed can
also be a train wreck. The top 1% of the population holds all
or the majority of the wealth. It's a find line between a dictatorship
IMO. Yeah very true that you can do anything and go anywhere
in the US...only if you have the mola and are welcome.lol
The majority just go to work and pay bills as a part
of the crazy machine...and for some people the ends just
don't meet or one paycheck from being homeless.
You are also free to strave to death too.lol

So it's a sort of crazy that the american dream for most people
is to own a **** home but in a commuism or socialist society
that's not an issue.

Being an ex-milatary for the US. It's actaully ironic that the malitary
stands for Freedom and the fights for freedom. However when you're
in malitary it's more like a dictatorship or commuism.
You get assigned your duties. You do what you're told.
It dosn't matter what your duties are or sometimes if you
even do a shitty job. You get a raise no matter what.
At the sametime..it dosn't really matter if you bust your ass,
you still get paid according to your rank. You get rank just
for the lenth of time you served, not what you do.
All my bills or the basic nesscities of life were taken care of...
medical, housing , food.
I had a dream of being a pimp oneday..that didn't go so well..lmao

When you think about it...what's more important , a doctor
or the trashman ?
A doctor cure diseases...a trashman prevents disease or the spread
of diseases. Both have nasty ass jobs.

Newtonian physics hiiihoooo, it was a joke.....a bad joke

and

the concept of utilitarianism
