Hi,i stumbled across this forum by accident, and after reading some of the posts on here it made me feel like "i'm not the only one" is that good or bad? i don't know, but maybe there's somebody out there who'll know how i feel. :)

Well anyway my name's Jay,i'm 41 and have never felt so isolated in my life.I've always suffered from chronic shyness which manifests itself in low self esteem and severe self doubt.
To highlight how pathetic,i am i've sat next to the same person at a football ground for every game for TWELVE years and have never mustered up enough courage to simply say "hello".

People always brand me as a 'loner',a tag i hate! I'm not a loner,i'd like nothing better than to spend my time with another person, but the mental barriers just seem insurmountable.

Anyway enough of me rambling on and on and boring everyone to death ;)
I hope to get to know you and have some fun. :)

Hi Jay ~ Welcome to ALL! You may wish to check out the forum's CHAT. It's just a suggestion; I think CHAT may help you get comfortable with your convo skills, then you could practice your new skills in real life. Otherwise, enjoy! Best to you, LGH:)

Hi Jay
I have been shy too. what I found wrong in myself was the change in the rate of my breathing as soon as I was trying to express myself. It is about 8 years I swim every day for one hour. this has empowered my breathing and expression capacity and all my shyness is gone.
