Hi everyone. I've been a brief lurker on here and originally found the site when conducting a search on hikikomori (no I'm not one). I'm in my early 30s and live in California. I have a relatively stable job and do have family I'm very close to and people who I can call friends.
As to why I'm here I'm shy, lonely (at least in particular to companionship) and have very low self-esteem. Most of my issues are just psychological, but I have yet to shake this off. I do not necessarily know if joining here will actually help me or instead give me an excuse to remain as I am, but I am willing to give this a try.
I'm looking forward to get to know people here. Don't worry. I don't bite.
