Hi , loneliness creeps up on you sometimes and thats what happened to me. Even though life is full since my divorce and my dad passing a couple of years back life kinda got quieter while remaining ever busy - what a paradox!

I live in London with my two kids and work in corporate hell and am so glad to find this forum where I hope to make new friends. I am an eternal optimist and beleive in the power of human spirit, it just needs some true friends to fly...

Welcome clarityman66

Sounds like you have had some rough times lately.

hey, sorry stupid question but if you already have two kids with someone would'nt it be best to "hunker down" for them?

I dunno, maybe on my side of the coin, if i was in your shoes, even if life does kinda suck and even if i want to rip the wife's head off- because of the kids i would at least force myself to make things work out between you two, until your two kids have left the house at whatever age they may be.

Was the marriage seriously that bad?

Hi eviloreo, unfortunately life isn't always so ideal or straightforward and while best course is for families to stay together , what situation would be better for children? two parents without arguments and angst or staying together and living in a 'cold war' situation?

Fact is people dont always work well together with or without children, the key is to work out the best way to move forward - I dont actually want to 'rip the wife's head off' nor do I think life sucks . I have a situation where I have two kids and am glad of them and they dont cause me to feel lonely.

So no, the hunker down option is not really viable nor fair to kids or yourself and its also best not to judge based on choices people make on their circumstances - keep smiling
