I would really like to talk to someone my own age. It is so hard when there is no one to talk to who understands what it is to be lonely.
Am so good at helping others with their problems, but I can't seem to get a handle on my own. I would really like to hear from someone out there who is sincere about their feelings and possibly helping me deal with mine!

Peggy, I am almost 50. I understand well what it is to be lonely. I will talk to you if you want.

im only 35 but sometimes i feel 50
when i go t the supermarket with my 17 yr old and 4 year old and thier father ,people always think thier father and my oldest are a couple and i am grandma and the baby is thiers and they say "oh what a cute grandchild you have?"
lol i just wanna back hand some people so bad lol
anyway i stay at home all day everyday besides the supermarket twice a week where my babys daddy escorts me there and back (i cant drve)
and that is the limit of my adult contact.
i fear the thought f being 50 and my children being grown and gone
then what will i do,what will i do if i am so lonely now how will i be able to stand the pain
hope you find some people on the forums who are your age ,most people come in burts of need to talk with someone,so it may take some tme to get replys trying bumping it if the thread starts to die eventually you should find someone you like to talk to

Hi Peggy,

I'm in my 30's. I know that I cannot yet relate exactly to you but I'd like to think that I am mature for my age.

Please share more about your loneliness experience. Are you divorced? We are all here to help and all of us can add insight even the young ones!

peggy, am not old enough to give advice,
but in my time i have experienced pain and heart breaks of different types
i want to help the world, but right now i cant even help myself

one thing i believe is that selfless love can heal all pain,
and am sure everyone here is willing to provide you support
please respond

Hi Peggy - I'm 53!!! I just found this site and was beginning to think it was all kids until I came across your posting. I need a friend too. Life for me is very lonely. After work when
I go home somedays I almost go nuts wanting to talk to someone.
I live in a small town in Texas, my kids are busy with there lives, my parents are deceased
and my sisters are far away. I don't have a computer at home, but can use it here at work
on my lunch hour or when I'm not busy. I hope you're having a good day and hope to hear
back from you. Keep your chin up!! Rita

I always hoped that with age I would feel better. At 50 I think I will not worry anymore about not having a girlfriend, at least.. I hope..

Forget it man. It's no good to talk about this stuff.

It sounds like your worried that this situation might last for a long time yet. Well, It can do. A long time ago I used to worry about such things, but then it struck me. I was unhappy because I wanted a girlfriend and did not have one. But because I was such a miserable person the chances of getting a girlfriend were very low.

So I gave up worrying about girls and started concentrating on enjoying my life. Doing the things that made me happy (and trying to be as good a friend as possible to those around me).

Sure enough, when I stopped worrying and became less of a misery, the woman who is now my wife dropped into my life. And guess what, I have been happily married for 6 years and I still occassionally get lonely. It just proves your still human when it happens.
