Hi folks,
This might be a bit of a strange one for this forum, but congrats to Katie Taylor who won gold for Ireland today in Women's boxing. It's the first Olympics to have womens boxing, and Katie herself is a big reason why it was brought it.
It's not a big sport in Ireland but 1m people (out of 4m) watched her first fight, and the country was at a standstill today.
I'm delighted for her. http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0809/katie-taylor-olympic-boxing-final.html
As for me, I watched it in work. I don't have many/any friends in work, and nearly everyone had left but I was still there. One girl asked me to come along in the end.
I'm delighted but at the same time I feel a little left out, as I don't have anyone around atm to tell how happ I am.
Anyway she's a real hero and a real inspiration so I wanted to share that.
