my immortal brings tears to my eyes when i hear it I love it.

It's so beautiful, ya I love a lot of sad songs

I don't know if people classify this as a "sad" song, but it certainly makes me feel like someone understands me when I'm depressed.

For me, the songs that affect me most powerfully are the ones that balance the fine line between sadness and beauty.

Songs that give me that otherworldly bittersweet feeling:

Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Ocean - John Butler
Highway Song (only the guitar solo) - Audioslave
Falling Away With You (only the verses) - Muse
Citizen Erased (only the piano coda) - Muse
Plug In Baby - Muse
Soldier's Poem - Muse
ATWA - System of a Down
What It Is To Burn - Finch
Otherside - RHCP
Under the Bridge - RHCP
Asthenia - Blink 182
Go - Blink 182
Adam's Song - Blink 182
Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead

There are tons more, but I should be studying for a test. =/

Fake plastic trees is a good one.

I have a list of about 20 that I listen to... But some of my favorites-

The Blues - Switchfoot
The Scientist - Coldplay
Knowing when to run - The Delgados (also, American Trilogy, and Child Killers)
I'm not an addict - Kay's Choice
The drugs don't work - The verve
Over and over - Morcheeba

Switch foot-meant to live
puddle of mudd-blurry
my lady peace-somewhere out there
snow patrol-chasing cars
and there a few other name em later :)

I like sad songs. Maybe not always in the mood for them, but they're always filled with so much emotions, which make them very powerful

There are many good sad songs out there.

I love Blackfield, because they're songs are very emotional. "My Gift of Silence" for example

And I also have to mention "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. One of the greatest songs ever made

"Disintegration" by the Cure is the ultimate heartbreak song for me.

Also, I concur with "Wish You Were Here." Amazing song.

I enjoy sad music and listen to it quite often. It might be counterproductive to fighting depression, but it is music that I identify with. Here is my list of some of my favorite sad songs :

1. Alice in Chains - Nutshell, Down in a Hole, Don't Follow, Am I Inside
2. Metallica - Nothing Else Matters
3. Fort Minor- Where'd you go
4. Smashing Pumpkins- Disarm, To Sheila, For Martha, Blank
5. Primitive Radio Gods- Standing Outside a Phone Booth with Money
in my Hand
6. Danzig- Going Down to Die, Cant Speak, Let it be Captured
7. Marilyn Manson- Count to Six and Die, Coma White, Coma Black,
Love is Just A Car Crash Away, In the Shadow of
the Valley of Death
8. Evanescence- Hello, My Immortal
9. Korn- Dead, Hollow Life, Alone I Break
9. Modest Mouse - Little Motel

That song was beautiful, Punisher
