It seems like a lot are answering this as if they are in a beauty pageant or something.

I'm getting what I want, surprisingly, because it's expensive. An XBox One.

I answered in that way because it's genuinely what I want. If you can't feel altruistic at Christmas, then when can you? The whole season went down the toilet when it became overly commercialised...

If nobody is giving you that .... you must take it for yourself .... Its not selfish either

I don't believe that working single mothers really have that option. It would be nice if someone could relieve a little bit of the pressure for them though...

I was just joking around.

Don't worry about it, Sci. I didn't really think you were having a go or anything - I just used your message as an excuse to voice my feelings about the rampant commercialism that goes on at this time of year. I have so many happy memories of my childhood Christmases and so little of it is related to the gifts I received.

Some what true
While not likely doable for days at a time ...a little bubble bath ..a book and 1/2 a hour might be a nice start for example
Most of us put everyone else first ...taking a little "me time" doesnt make you a monster

Friendship and the courage to extend the hand of friendship and (also) to receive it.
