Simple enough...most people when they are depressed feel better if they eat a lot of junk food. What's your favorites?

Mine are:

Chocolate candy, cookies, and chocolate covered raisins.

dnt load up on junk food when im feelng like chit
would only make me feel worse

It's a really bad coping skill but...
chocolate
chips
diner food (there's a diner at least every five miles where I live).

To Princess and Kamya...Those better be cheese fries :p Tis the American way.

OT

Thanks.

For me, it was more about the diminishing returns for it.

~ It cost extra money for no real benefit
~ After turning 40, I did not have the same amount of energy as I did before and it seemed to take more of my energy away for me
~ Even if I had a couple of beers, it made me feel worse the next day and there has been other people in my office - older - who felt the same way
~ It irritated my throat
~ Caused me to gain weight because of empty calories and having to eat something
~ Every once in a while - maybe once every year or two - I would embarrass myself with "drunkin postings" after not paying attention to how many I had after watching a football game or something
~ DUI check points everywhere and to easy to get busted if not careful and your insurance rates go up (I know people who have gotten busted from it for barely going over 00.08% for their BAC)
~ It only applied a temporary, immediate patch for my troubles and exacerbated it in the end for a longer period of time - esp feeling down the next day
~ Ect

It really seemed like it was no longer worth the trouble because the risks outweighed the rewards from it.

It is not say I would never have one in the future, but it is simply not worth it for me 99% of the time.

And, there have been times that I wanted one or two after extremely stressful situations, but those are the times that I make sure not to touch it - because it is all for the wrong reasons and illogical to step into the trap again.

alcohol (before i quit drinking years ago) and chips.
Gratz on quitting drinking. It's certainly no cakewalk.

Water I guess. Normally I get like one 1.5 L bottle a day, when I feel down it's like 3 bottles. I'm staying from sweets because last time I overduldged on them I got nasty stomach ache for a week.

Well, come to think about it, food can be porn.....food porn. You look at it, want to eat it, but do not dare to. In addition, I think that anything can be indulged in when you are depressed. It can kill you potentially, but isn't everyone doing it unfortunately? Some have too much food, some have drugs, some have too much sex, while some have too much alcohol. It all kills us. As for me, I wil opt for eating and shopping in a spree. Eating? Well, I will eat lots of disgusting deep-fried stuff including fries.....it's a good thing I don't get fat with this.

I eat vast quantities of fast food when feeling down. Like the other day I was severely hung over and felt like honeysuckle so I ate a Bacon BigTasty meal and a big mac meal. More than anything though, the main thing I do when depressed is drink booze. Not good lol
