I think it would be hard to make it a mission to make friends. From what I've experienced, it just happens. It's not something you can force.

It gets down to them being better people. They seen the way they were treated wasn't right, and they try to not put anybody else through what they did. Experience what they experienced. It's learning and applying.

I wouldn't worry about it. If it's so important to them, tell them the truth. No real need to lie. If people look at you funny, so be it. Better than living with the lie.

Look, as long as I can browse the internet OK, I can listen to music, play a few games, watch YouTube videos, a tablet can be made by anybody as far as I'm concerned. Apple is overrated though, in my opinion. Just highly advertised pieces of mediocrity.
