I'm 41 and just bored. I have no idea what I want, even though I'm generally always doing what I feel like doing. It would be nice to have a female partner to share life with.

I consider people I only to talk to online as sort of pen pals, like in the old days. My mom had a pen pal from Illinois for years, until the woman died. BTW, yes, I think online friends can be valuable.

Cowboy up, ask her out, have a good time, but don't expect to have a serious long term relationship with this woman - and don't even think of marriage. Trust me, after awhile you'll start thinking "she'll be 65 when I'm only 48 ... hmmm?" I'm 41 and I just got out of a relationship with a 54...
