I rarely have anything to do on Friday nights also and I really believe a lot people don't either. You're not alone. *hugs*

I don't really have all that much going on each week; therefore my weekdays and weekends seem identical and I sometimes even forget what day it is because of it. I try to keep myself distracted so that negative thoughts don't enter my mind and consume me.

I'm sorry to read that most of you are feeling the same. I hope that you all find what you're looking for one day :) If you wish, feel free to PM me.

I feel for those with little to do on a Friday night. If I have nothing to do, I can get quite bored. Luckily, I rarely find myself in that position. I can sleep or keep busy online. Keeping busy is the key.

I'm the same, I have no friends are family where I'm living now apart from my partner and kids. My partner spends most of his nights at his friends so I'm often alone :(

Aww, that's awful. I don't know how partners can do things like that to each other. :/

Loneliness is not a new experience for me.

xaero, I was looking at your profile, your still in high school or in college? you are into computers? I would suggest seek out others like you, folks who are in the same hobbies like you, if your in a school or in college there are probably someone just like I would go right up to them tell them your name and say your into computers? you want to build a computer together or you want to build a 3d game together or you want to do something I.T. related together?

I have some college education. I wasn't able to complete college due to financial hardship. The only reason why I have a full-time job in the IT field now is because I'm very tech savvy, self-motivated, and find many aspects of IT interesting. However, I don't want this job to turn into a career. I want to become a 3D artist, but I'll need to go back to school full-time because my job consumes too much of my time.

I hear ya, well guess what your going to have to take a chance to pursue your passion this is what folks do when they have a dream and a desire so that means student loan or grants or both night classes or hard core. I know this girl that took out a loan not only does it cover her tuition but also her rent and expenses yes big time gamble but before I would go that route I would look at demand for your field what are job prospects for someone with a degree etc. also think of the benefits of going the loan route and going to school full time. you get to met folks who are going after the same degree you are going for so chance to make a couple of friends, and to impress them use some of that savvy. you can take a leave of absence from your job don't burn any bridges if your on good terms keep it that way.

another option will job pay for it? what do you do for your job are you the desktop guy or more all around i.t. specialist? how long have you been there? is it a four year degree or 2 year can you get a cert for that?

another option you say your I.T. savvy are you doing firewalls, switches, servers? have you thought about studying for ccna that is self study I have the material and know where to get hardware. We can be virtual study buddies we can try to get 1 more person this will definitely take those lonely evenings away. we can set a goal cram for 3 months then take the exam.

we can do video conference over the computer share screens etc have virtual study group.

Every evening is a bit of a lonely evening for me, I feel like a single parant the kids go to sleep at 7 and my wife gets back from work at 10.30. But I cant leave the house, I feel like a prisoner, I have to try really hard not to turn to drink. I would kill just to have an adult conversation with someone, a converastion that does not involve nappies, kids or more kids. I think the evening boredom is driving me a little insane, I feel a little antisocial when my wife gets back from work as I am annoyed that I am home all the time alone. Anyway, if you want to talk please PM me.
