Hi everyone.

I joined these forums because I have been experiencing some isolation as of late, and would love to get to know some people.

My back story: About two years ago I moved away from my main belt of family and friends to pursue a job. I have slowly been drifting away from the handful of friends I still have in this area (we just don't seem to get along anymore and our meetups are rather forced now), so my support is a little tenuous. Socialising for me is often met with a backlash of (sometimes severe) anxiety and depression, so it is difficult for me to get the interaction that I need.

Tidbits about myself: I enjoy art, and am learning how to play chess (I am currently a complete novice, but am certainly up for a game with anyone!). One of my pet hobbies is geology, and my username is taken from one of my favourite minerals.

So, how is everyone doing? I would love to get to know you all.

Thank you. I dabble in a few mediums, but I mostly return to pen drawing and glass painting. I noticed that we have an art forum; if I can get my hands on a scanner or camera, I shall share some of my humble works!

That's the one. It's not the best written thing, and it has a rather silly new age premise, but it's worth the read for the insight it provides into interpersonal dynamics.

Chess is a great game its probably my favorite classic board game, its really relaxing. Back when i was in the army me and this guy used to play some, he was from philly and they played in the park there a lot, so i learned.....well ok i didnt learn much i still got slaughtered a lot but i had fun with it lol. I finally managed to beat him about twice i think, im a masochist what can i say? Its good to have you on the forums, welcome to all.
