Let me start by giving an introduction. I’m Haven a 20 year old Nothing Master. I live in New Haven Connecticut. I was born into a broken home and my family is lower class. At one point things were going great I graduated from High school had rented my own apartment and had a well paying job in a factory, I was the master of my destiny. Then slowly things came crashing down I lost the job lost the apartment lost ownership of my destiny. I moved back in with my mother having the bitter taste of defeat at the hands of the dreaded world of adults. I started to collect unemployment and half heartedly look for a part time job. A few months pass by and no luck with employment. Soon after my mother needed surgery done for Fibroid Tumors then she lost her job and now we are getting evicted. By the end of the month I’ll be homeless. Its funny the name I joined this forum awhile ago the name haven means any place of shelter and safety and when your homeless that’s what you don’t have, how ironic right now my levels of depression is 8.5 out of 10 I’m confused and just trying to put the pieces together this isn’t easy Any thoughts on my situation are welcome so wish me luck.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that, Haven :(

I've never been in that situation, so I really have no idea what to say, except good luck and I hope things work out for you.

*hugs*

buy trash bags and tape. like duct tape or package tape. great for storage and fixing things. otherwise dont quit, let the bad come to you dont go to it. a lot of people bluff to get you to pay them. let them actually do it. while waiting try to get extensions. lower payments. waivers. try and call support numbers for assistance. just be dead weight. dont let them push you, make them drag you.

You're still relatively young. People under 24 seem to have the best time finding resources when it comes to such situations. Now, it's true I don't know anything about Connecticut, but I can't imagine it being much different as far as that's concerned.

New Haven isn't a backwoods town, there's got to be at least one shelter somewhere nearby. They might be listed online (it's worth a Google) or you can contact Social Services or a similar city/state-based operation to find out what kind of shelter is available.

Of course, this is all worst-case scenario. There's a chance you might not end up evicted after all, but it's always good to know your options, even for future reference.

(((((hugs)))))

OK, first, try family, friends, etc.

Second, contact whatever agency handles family and social services. You can try the Salvation Army, United Way and the Red Cross.
If all else fails, try these:

meh, with the unemployment rate and the forclosure rate so high, shelters are all too popular right now.

We tried a few shelters and the want to divide my mother and my younger brother And that thought drove my mother crazy. She doesn't think its a good idea.

They probably weren't family shelters...

I mean, I don't know. I was always by Myself, so I don't know how the family thing works.
But I'd assume -- or hope? -- that there were places that were more family-friendly. I mean, really. o_O
