Hi,

The fact is when I go out I get somewhat weird, hostile looks from random people.

You may think I am crazy and this is some kink of a mental situation but the fact is today an

a stranger on a bicycle hurled a very offensive slang at me (very softly)) without any reason whatsoever.

In my observation people from good cultured families never indulge in such activities.

But the fact still remain, whats wrong with me ?

What makes me special amongst the crowd ?

I must mention that I do bodybuilding regularly and it shows even when I am wearing clothes.

Do you think that can be a reason ?

I don't see how a bodybuilder's looks could be offensive..

How do you normally look? Maybe when you look at that person who did that, you probably had a frowning and pissed off face staring back at them? As for the hostile looks, honestly majority of the strangers I see out there do not have any friendly expressions on their faces - if that is what you mean by hostile. I think that's kinda normal. To me at least.

I've been told that my "default face" is kind of angry and makes me unapproachable, I don't know, maybe it is something similar with you, or maybe since you are a body builder people hope to provoke you into fights. Could be just about any reason, people can do some screwed up stuff for little if any reason.

Well I can sense that I have developed a " I don't wanna socialize so please leave me alone kind of look". So there is a possibility that some people are thinking that I got superiority complex.Let alone frowning I didn't even make eye contact with that person.

I am facing the same situation. I had read a awesome quote (I forgot the author). It said that two kinds of people can hate you. One are those who wants to become like you (but can't) and then there are those who see you as a threat.

I've been honked at and had insults or other things hurled at me from men passing by in cars. Some people enjoy making others uncomfortable or assume based on appearances. It's (probably) not you.

Just theorizing here, but since some men get a kick out of treating me that way because I'm a woman they might get a similar kick out of being able to insult a macho-looking guy and get away with it. I don't understand their way of thinking at all, but I think it's all about power, impulse, and a misguided sense of masculinity.

Well, if you profess yourself being an 'aryan' some folks might be a little intimidated with that :p.

Joking aside, some of us just aren't very affable. Ever meet somebody who's face/demeanor you just don't like? somebody else could be feeling the same way about you.

Conclusion; everyone is pretty judgmental. I don't put it past them. It is hard to deal with sometimes.

I must say though, there is a negative bias toward people who weight train. I had about 15lbs more muscle on me for a time, and every other person just treats you like a narcissistic meat-head. It seems to incite that much posturing from others.

I think you are referring to some other Aryan. I don't what that is.

Aryans are the original inhabitants of India. They are the founders of Hinduism.

Yes, since you used to weight train yourself you can better understand my situation.

My guess is unless I start walking as a 90 year old man I will have to cope with this.

I just learned something new today- I had no idea of the original source/meaning of the word Aryan....

Aryan is a term used to denote the whole ancient Indo-European peoples or more specifically the historic Indo-Iranian branch of Indo-Europeans.
The term "Aryan" is often associated with its usage by the National Socialists during the Third Reich period. National Socialism defined Aryans to be Europeans with the Nordic-Germanic at the top of the hierarchy, followed by other Europeans. Contrary to popular belief, the National Socialists did not say that Aryans were blonde hair and blue eyed people, they did not discriminate against people on their hair or eye color and nowhere in Mein Kampf did Adolf Hitler even mention such an idea.

Interesting how a words true meaning/heritage becomes lost or forgotten when there's a negative connotation attached to it.

Yes, this is quite normal in Kali Yuga. Google Kali Yuga.

Demographics plays a big role, at least where I live. I'm about an hour north of a very culturally diverse city. I moved up here to be in the mountains, a glaring difference is that the population here is all alike. Any outsiders, for lack of a better term, who don't fit the description are very obvious and it's crazy to see people staring at them like they are from outer space. I don't know if that's the same in your case, but it sure can make a person feel like everyone is hostile towards them around where I live...

^boy oh boy do I know/live this story, seems like a lot of them have their dozen or so friends and don't want more....friendly- yes, friends- no.

Luckily I'm content flying solo for the most part :D

Anytime, I'll even jump in a pool if I have to.

I've got different types of friends so that's open to interpretation :D

(Just can't resist being me)

to go back to the thread's topic, there is such a thing as "bitchy resting face" (don't know the equivalent for guys)

personally I see that that usually depends on my mood, someone once told me after almost breaking his foot to get a piece of furniture out of the way "when you fight the world, the world fights back"

I'm glad you clarified Aryan here because, frankly, I thought at first that you were a white supremacist and your background page was quite vague at first on where you live. I'm quite glad to find out I was wrong and happy to learn something new.
Welcome to the forum, by the way! Hope you stick around! :)

No, I don't think that description matches my situation. What you have described reminds me of the movie Rambo First Blood. Rambo returns to his country to meet his friend who had served with him and a sheriff appears out of nowhere gives him a tough time.

I was born in this city so no chance of that happening but I must mention that from my own life experience I have learned that if you live right next to a college or university things like these are bound to happen. In my opinion people should never buy or rent home near a college or university deliberately.

Added the original, detailed meaning of Aryan provided by WildernessWildChild as my signature. So, I guess there will no more confusion.

It happens to me a lot. Always has. Even if I just go for a walk, I'll have random people who I've never met, tell me to "p*ss off", or to "f**k off". It happens even more if I smile, and say hello or good day or something. And it seems to be from all ages too. Younger, older, my own age, it doesn't seem to matter. I've had people just come up to me and call me ugly, a monster, even spit on me for no apparent reason that to just go out of their way to do it. Once, I even had a therapist I was going to go out on a walk with me, because he didn't believe me that this happens, and he was shocked to see, and couldn't understand or explain why people do these things.

I wish I could tell you why people do it. I would say that it's a part of the bullying culture, but, I seem to get an equal number of people who do it to me when they are alone, as when they are in a group, so I don't know.

I had to tolerate something similar to "p*ss off", or to "f**k off" but that spitting incident is simply unthinkable. Why didn't you complain to the police ?

In my case people act smart only when they are in a group. I have noticed that the same guy adopting a neutral position when he is alone.
