Ok so I'm going to a Community College at the end of the month and I'm figuring out ahead of time what my minor and major might be. But I don't know anything about college.

The thing is im 20yo and have never had a job, or any experience at all and when I was in high school, like my sophomore year to graduation I would sleep in class most of the time. I never had any drive or passion for anything, and i still don't. I've been struggling with depression and anxiety for about 4 years(also been suicidal a couple times) and it just destroyed my social life and self esteem. But Something just kinda clicked in my head and I decided I wanted to go to college because I haven't been doing anything but wasting my life away.

Anyways. I just thought if you knew my situation it can help you give me some insight and tips on what I should do. But to the point.

I have chosen a few courses that I think I wanna try, they are:

Economics
Political Science
Philosophy
Humanities
History
Physical Education
Child Development

The last two because I like kids and exercise. I guess I chose the others because sometimes I think about politics and economics, things like that. I like having these little debates with family or over the internet on various topics, like the death penalty, abortion, medical marijuana etc. (or even debates in mmo's on topics relating to the game or whatever) Also, I'd kinda like to learn more about my country, even other countries and cultures.

any help is appreciated.

An advantage of community college is you generally don't have to choose a major at this point. You can sample courses from a wide variety of disciplines and see what suits you and your interests best, and I think you should, since your interests are quite varied. Then once you find what really interests you, you can concentrate on that from then on. It'll just be your first semester, so don't put too much pressure on yourself. :)

You could make an appointment to see a college advisor to get more information about the courses and their contents. Barbaloot's information sounds really good. I wish I had lived in America when I was a student as it seems that you aren't made to specialise too early.
