My grandfather when he was still alive, made the ugliest looking strawberry pie you've ever seen. Tasted like pure heaven though.

no feelings means no pleasure and joy though either. i think many people would agree that they would be prepared to suffer a length of time just to feel some pleasure. The "it was so worth it" phrase is common. As human beings, we have to accept that life is going to be full of much sadness and pain, but how we deal with it is the important thing.
