(sorry about the thread title.. couldn't think of a fitting one)
I never ask anyone for help, even when I'm in a very bad situation. I don't know why, maybe I just don't trust people.
Anyways, let's keep it on topic. For once, I had decided I actually needed a little bit of help with some university studies.. and so I asked the closest person to a friend I have (who studies the same subjects).
He replied with an email.. attaching everything that I had asked for, and more, saying that's what friends are for. I didn't check until a week ago, more or less, when I found out he had removed some parts so that what he sent me was actually completely useless and consisted of material I already had, mixed in with some unrelated stuff.
And no, it wasn't sent that way by mistake, since it was organized in such a way that I didn't notice at first glance etc.. (I won't go about it in detail)
Now, I admit I shouldn't ask other people to take care of my responsibilities, since I should probably have done that work on my own in the first place.
However, what bothers me is that he actually sent me bad material, while claiming to be my friend, instead of actually saying he couldn't help me, or didn't want to.
If someone asked you for this kind of help, what would you do?
- Help him, since it's the first time he asked
- Not help him, and telling the truth to him
- Not help him, but making it seem like you did
- ?
And if you have any idea why he could have behaved that way, please write it below. (I'll add that at the moment it'd be difficult for me to contact him and anyways I have no want for unnecessary drama)
