So, I've been growing this bad boy out since December and have at times felt self-conscious about it...the only person who has registered a complaint about it has been my mom since she wants her smooth-faced little baby boy back.

What say ye? Beards or no beards? Let's be sure to hear from the ladies on this. Are you unable to stop yourself from swooning at the overwhelming masculinity of a bearded man or do you find bearded dudes gross?

I think short beards on most dudes look pretty good. None of that crazy sasquatch stuff, but a good neat one, you know?

I'd grow one if I could, but I have feeble facial hair. I'm currently attempting sideburns right now but it's looking sad.

Keep at it! I grew one for a while when I was 17 but didn't stick with it cuz I was a wimp (also I couldn't grow a mustache at all which made me look ******* goofy!--incedentally I'm still a little weak in the stache department, but it's getting there and these days I've got nobody to impress). And remember skippy, there are only two kinds of people in this world who don't have beards: women and boys! :p

im working on growing my crazy person beard out right now

I'm a fan of both the beard and the mustache myself. When unemployed, I used to experiment with different styles of facial hair. My favorite was the Lemmy style mustache into chops. Then I went clean shaven for a while. Now I have the rather lame goatee.

Come this fall, I'm entering a beard contest with my cousin and a few of his acquaintances. I will be sure to post pics showing its progress.

Woah woah wait, woah dude, a beard contest? When and where my friend? I could definately do a beard contest :)

I used to have quite a thick beard, but mainly through laziness when it comes to shaving. I tried a goatee, but with my eyebrows it's kind of the supervillian look so I got rid. I still don't like being clean shaven, but I don't think I'll go back to a beard. They look alright on the right person.

I hate beards with a passion, they're scratchy when you go to kiss a guy. A bit of stubble is great but that's all I like. I'm all for clean shaven guys!

Nyktimos pointed to the best perk of having a beard actually: not shaving! Who here actually likes shaving? And especially if you've got a beard that grows really fast you've to do it every other day to have that baby butt smoothe face you're after. And if you're like me you've mangled your face pretty good more than a few times trying to beat back your natural forces of beardedness. It's just a pain in the ass and I don't think anybody likes doing it. Maybe with an electric razor things are diffrent but c'mon! Why is everybody afraid of hair on other places than your head these days? Girls shave their pussies now in addition to their legs and underarms, dudes shave their chest hair and some (in the porn industry at least) even go so far as to shave their willies! fresia being prim and proper looking! Shagyness FTW!!!

True, but even a beard needs attention. Otherwise, it's Grizzly Adams time. Unless you're going to spend your life as a wild man in the forests (which has some appeal) it's not a good look.

Hate that! It's not right. Am I the only one who thinks so? It seems to be the craze.

The same people who like cold showers, psychotics :p

Steel, your friendly neighbourhood bearded guy :p

Lol, and while beards need trimming, you can get away with doing it once a week or so.

God I envy you people :p I pray to heavens above each night that I'll grow some many facial hair. I've got about three hairs on my chin and six under my lip. Goin for a gotee...goat tee....I dunno.

Hang in there NF! My stache takes a very long time to grow--much much longer than the rest of the beard, so I looked like an Amish man for a long time there. But now it's longer.

...oh, and I believe that a 'goat tee' would be a goat in a t-shirt :D

Well, some guys look better with facial hair, some look better clean-shaven, so it depends, for me. Before my current bf I tended to prefer no facial hair on guys, but I actually prefer my bf with his beard and mustache. I've seen him with a shaven face and it just doesn't look right to me, lol. As long as he keeps it the way it is and trims it every now and again, it's perfect.

Only downside to beards/mustaches is that it can make a gal's face itchy sometimes when kissing, etc.

I'd also like to add that I kinda like helping him with the maintenance shaving. Maybe that's weird, but he doesn't mind it one bit; less for him to do. :p
