Gosh how do I do it

I like this girl at my school. She is nice and doesn't like hurting people's feelings. So if I ask her out she may say yes but just say yes just because she feels sorry for me or something like that. Also the most I talked to this girl is just small talk but that's because I'm very shy.

I say go for it.

If a girl doesn't like a guy, she's probably not going to go out with him because she pities him, IMHO. It doesn't matter if you've only shared small talk with her. She'll remember you as a nice person, which gives you a step up in communicating with her.

Yes Abandonedwolf, go for it! At least if she turns you down, you won't have to suffer the agony of not knowing.

If you never try, then you'll always wonder "If only I had asked her out...would she have said yes?"

Regret in having never tried may be a worse feeling than knowing the truth. Just go for it and good luck!
