Those last days I came to wonder wether I accurately get the meaning of God is Good.
Well, let me try to speculate and try to find an answer.
Human being instinctively conceive God. Any human being could imagine a entity, being eternally existing with no beginning and no end, capable of doing anything, being completely perfect and without flaws and limitations. We also often call this entity good. So is that good mean being opposite to evil or that just when it come to God, whatever He does, is intrinsecally good?
Let's reason.
God is the creator of everything. Evil is something, so God created evil.
According to this simple but no less accurate reasoning, God is capable of evil.
But let's examine the creation. We all have to admit that there is a harmony which is a parallel of the goodness or harmony we know. We get hungry, and also, we can find food. We need to sleep, and also, we can do it at night. We need to move from a place to another, and also, we have legs that makes it possible. We need to see, and also we have eyes.
Those are points that shows us, that thought God is able of evil, the main thing ot His creation is about harmony and goodness. He capable of everything, but still we are moving around above the earth freely and with more hope for good things than bad ones. If God was evil, then, being infinitely All-powerful, our lives would be about unthinkable suffering and pains that ends not. there would be a chaos intentionnally made for us to suffer and only to suffer.
From what it is said above, we have plenty of reason to belive that God is greatly Good and kind.
Now, what about evil ? Is there any dark side in God that made evil an avoidable thing on earth ? we know that it is already said that God is capable of everything, and that He is also capable of evil (which is usually linked to punishement for the wicked and the bad). So is He also evil ? Surely not. Because, being perfect, he is also capable of complete fairness, that makes understandable when bad things occur. Now you might reply, why some innocent people suffer ? Who said that evil things happen to only evil people ? It also can happen to good people ? But you know what ? Nobody is good. Lot of people call themselves good and innocent, but if you look closely over their behavior and attitude, they might turn out to be evil but oblivious to it. Actually, few people are good. So it is clear that God is Good, and that anything evil that comes from him comes with a reason
