I've read a lot on the Skype forums and it sounds like the integration with MSN is terrible (and buggy).

Ah. :( I really do like the Windows Live Messenger client, but Trillian is good too. I think you should at least check it out if you haven't already. It's a good instant messenger with great features.

MSN is still alive, at least for now. I believe they said they'd keep the service itself running until some time in 2014, meaning that other clients (such as Trillian) will still be able to connect to MSN / Windows Live. The official Windows Live Messenger client still works at the moment too...

I can relate to this a lot. I think I understand how you must feel, and I don't think an online relationship is something to laugh at. It's still real, the people involved are real, and the feelings are real. I think you do need to get over her though, and not try to track her down. I'm sorry...

Visual novels are nice. I've read two visual novels: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, and Umineko no Naku Koro ni. They were both good, but I enjoyed Higurashi a lot more; it was actually one of the best stories I've ever read.
