Is the chat room an actual safe environment?

I received abusive messages from a member yet their signature, on all 14,000 of their posts, asks that I join them in some chat room for a "safe" environment. I dunno about you but people who use language like this for no good reason, aren't those who I think of when I consider my safety.

I don't know if there is such a thing as a, 'safe space...' There will always be dangers in life, and freedom is a very dangerous thing, which is why it demands respect and responsibility.

But, safety dances...

...are a fairly safe bet, in my book.
