A precious life was lost last year.
The life of my wife.
Her death and her life have thrown my mind into profound chaos.
I've seen photos of her as a child. She was an only child and a lonely child. She suffered trauma. It made her cynical about life.
But I was privileged to spend 32 years with this beautiful soul. A wounded bird with a feisty game face.
I disappointed her by not being the father figure she needed. Not all the time but a lot of the time. Maybe I regained some respect towards the end. I will never know.
When you lose a loved one, it's a huge shock. Life is fragile after all. You realise you were living in a delusion, thinking both of you were immortal.
We aren't. We will die. Sooner or later. Question how you spend every minute of your day. Time is running out.

You are good with words. As they say it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

I am so sorry for your loss. After so many years that has to leave
a major void. I hope with time it becomes easier to get through the day.
