saying no to society

I tend to think a lot about where I see my life in teh future, probably not where I hope it would be. My parents expect me to become some kind of businessman or military officer, I see myself as a writer, or a assistant tattoo artist (lol, hopefully someone remembers this conversation I had with them way back when....*hint**hint* Qui) or something that is low key, so I have free time to hang with friends and go explore outside...I dont like being confined to what I'm told to do and what I'm being tought to do, but unless I decide to go off the deep end and live my hard, but free life, I'll be saying yes to society for now

what about you? what do you wish you could do/wish you didnt have to do? what are your qualms with society?

Hmmmm, lets see I believe in Democratic Socialism. I don't really like greed, corruption, or anything that strongly stands in the way of a utopian society. Just because the ideal can possibly never be achieved doesn't mean we shouldn't strive for it. Mind you I am not totally against capitalism, but I think very stringent limits should be set on it.

Globalization is pro buisness and anti individual so I am against globalization. What this means is it allows buisnesses to become lawless and totally unrestrained by governments making individuals completely powerless. In the long run we won't even have a government if globalization continues and everyone but a tiny minority will literally have all the wealth. To an even greater extream then it is already.

I agree with your ideas but I was thinking more specificlly, like in your daily life. I've made more than my fair share of ideopolitical statements lol, but I want this to be on a more personal level.

I can't say I remember the conversation, but I know exactly what it entailed.
That's been my back-up life plan since junior high, so I doubt I'll forget it too soon.
And... Sam was going to be my partner in crime, or, maybe just my #1 customer.
But yeah, that's my back up plan in case I flunk out of med school.
If you need the job, you can be my assistant for sure. Or my book keeper or something, since you're not exactly the next picasso...

Unless it's something I can't do anything about and then I would rather try to find some way I can do something about that. If you hate your job then try to find what you like about your job or look for another and quit... I guess I would rather think in terms of how I can make a difference then in how I can feel sorry for myself.

Well in our conversation I was the accountant since thats the only class I'm doing well in, or renevate the place into a club and become a bouncer or something (though liquor licenses in cali go for around $100,000 and the waiting list is over a year long...now. But ya, a nice tat parlor with an accountant from hell....what more could you ask for? *sarcasm/rhetorical*

Then you obviously dont get the meaning of this thread, it isnt meant for answers or help, but fanciful ideas and dreams you have. It's about imagination and the thinking that if you cant acheive something, then what do you want out of life? If you reach for the stars, you are bound to get the sky, but what if you reach for the sky? Something you know you could accomplish without major strain on your life?
