The game has just one rule: post whatever is on your mind honestly, as you cannot hide it.

Imagine what life would be like in a telepathic society. Or if you made a post and everyone who saw it was somehow forced to share their thoughts with you. Indeed, whoever makes a public post should realize that it will be seen by anyone, and there is bound to be a variety of opinions no matter how sensitive the content. When we are in need of support we receive both genuine and fake. Of course that which is fake merely lends itself to babysitting those who are unable to deal with reality.

A Telepathic world is a naked world, a place without false sympathies where a see no evil, hear no evil, think no evil mentality cannot exist, and yet paradoxically, it must exist. Such a world would no doubt tare itself apart until an absolute concensus was reached about everything.

With regards to belief systems this is especially true. The things we cannot face become repressed and taboo. A good example would be the reality where reincarnation is true, but where life is hell, in say the dark ages, no one wants to know they come back here, but are happy going to their graves believing in some eternal paradise. A lie may then be perpetuated for the benefit of good moral conduct, but it quickly becomes a thing of dischord and contention and there is a fine line between what is helpful and what becomes a crutch.

Moreover, the world is full of lies, so that only those who seek the truth may find it, but to that requires humility. Thus humility is the very first virtue, and its color is black. Just as it is the job of the parent to hide and censer certain things from their children, so too is the purpose of the king to hide what is real from the general population in order to maintain the peace, and fleece the flock.

A world of Telepathy knows no such restrictions. Neither the child nor the people can be shielded from the undesirable aspects of truth, nor from the constant thoughts of one another. Tolerance and censensus thus become necessary to survival, evil cannot exist, and the occult cannot remain hidden. Mischief and plotting find no recourse for expression and that which is offensive is constantly in your face.

But I think Telepathy would be great if it could happen on a censensual basis or be turned on and off. Then again maybe it should be confined to only the most intimate encounters. A massive worldwide telepathy would be like taking the collective unconscious and making it conscious, although for psychics and those who know how to use it, nothing is truly hidden.

In the world of light, darkness finds no expression - for darkness finds its solace only in the secret evils of our selves, and cannot withstand the revelation for the weakness it is.

I disagree about psychics, though; Ingo Swann has certainly not been able to solve every murder case or anything. As most researchers note, even believers, the signal to noise ratio is slight and it can't exactly be considered reliable. Mr. McMoneagle, I understand, has found a way to be a bit more reliable, but its still a struggle.

Anyway, shouldn't this be elsewhere in the forum?
