Ok, since Luna has a fantastic thread in the relationships section and I don't want to bump it down, I'm going to put The Creeper Thread in the general sectoin. :)

I want people to tell me their stories of Creepers. You know, the guys that stand too close to you, the stalkers, the guys that JUST WONT LEAVE YOU ALONE or just the guys that give you the heebie jeebies and you really cant put a finger on why this is.. Or women....women do this too :p.

Have you ever been creeped out by someone?

If so, please do share your story.

I'll start with a story of mine:

So, a few days ago, I was at Walmart and I was minding my own buisness, buying stuff. I was in the pharmacy section for a little while, then I went over to the other end of the store, to get distilled water for my medical machine that I use at night.

I check out and as I am walking towards the door this guy, older guy, either in his late thirties or 40's comes up along side of me and says "I saw you in the pharmacy section, would you like to go out sometime?" As he is saying this, i'm walking and minding my own buisness, so I turn to look at him and I'm startled out of my own little world. I start feeling creeped out because I began to feel like he had been following me around the store and I'm totally alone. o_O

I tell him "No thanks, I think I have to get home. It was nice to meet you though."

The whole time while I'm driving home I'm looking over my shoulder, very freaked out/paranoid.

Of course, having recently read article on guys with a disability fetish didn't help probably because they said that these sorts of guys just WAIT around in malls and stores to follow around women with disabilities/take pictures of them to post on their little fetish groups online. o_o

This part in particular creeps me out:

Where Does a Disability Fetish Come From?
There is no clear explanation for why someone develops a fetish for those with disability. The list of potential reasons for such an attraction is long. Speculations aren’t always pretty, and include:

-A lack of success with able-bodied individuals, which makes people with disabilities safer targets of affection.

-The desire for a unique partner who garners attention from onlookers.

-Sadistic tendencies, where the individual loves having power over one of perceived lower status.

-Masochistic tendencies, where one gets satisfaction via feelings of self-degeneration that are associated with having a partner who is stigmatized.

-The imprint of early childhood experiences involving strong emotions for a people with disabilities. (Parental approval for any admiration can further reinforce such.)

-The need to feel like a hero in “saving” a people with disabilities.

:O that IS creepy.

There's this guy at my school who has a MAJOR crush on me. Major scary. He's made me my own, 'virtual worlds' that are on youtube...

He's asked me questions like, What position do you sleep in? Can I come over? Can we slow dance at my house?

I've told him to fresia off many times. ahh.

OMG soph, I think reading the bottom portion of this post creeped me out pretty good. There are some really wacked folks out there.

I had a creep bug me last week. He followed me through a store too and then when I went to buy a coffee on the way out ( I knew he was right behind me and I didn't want to go into the lot alone) He jumped in and wanted to pay for it. I was alone too, but for as mellow as I am I can get really scrappy when someone is closing in on me. in the worng way. So I drew up this 100 lbs of mostly hair and told him "NO thank you" and walked straight over to the security guard just outside the door. I told the cop and he was a sweety and walked me to my car while calling another guard, on his radio, to keep track of the creep.

He was quite a bit younger than me, the creep, not the cop...The officer looked about 50 something but he had one of those faces that said he wouldn't take a lot of crap. I liked him!

I'm always friendly to folks but this guy didn't give off a "I wanna be your friend vibe" He made me uncomfortable and not many folks do that to me, so I listened to my gut feeling and found a bigger guy with a gun in his belt to hang with me till I got in my car and locked the door.

I agree with Nina, the bottom part of the post is really creepy
Here's my creep story:
My daily routine is pretty much the same for two years now. I go to one cafe every day on my break and I'm with my two friends, since we work together. Usually we don't even notice anyone else, but two weeks ago a serious, scary man set next to us. He didn't look at us, but we could tell that he's listening every word we say. We tried to ignore him, but it was pretty hard, so we just left and got back to work.
The next day, he was there again. And the next. This time I noticed he's staring at me. So we changed the cafe. I forgot about him untill Saturday night. I went out, to a club that was really crowded that night, people were pushing each other all over the place trying to get in. Just the very moment I decided to go home becouse it was too hot and imposible to have fun I felt someone breathing slowly in my ear. Of course, it was him. I yelled at him, but he just smiled and put his hand on my butt. That was so creepy that I can't even describe it.
One of my friends saw that and they kicked him out, but I was still scared that he'll come back or find me in a cafe or something (this town is not big and everyone knows where to look if they want to find someone). But he didn't.
Two days later I found out he's a cousin of one of the waitors from cafe, and that he went back home and will not come back here any time soon. Good.
The waitor explained that ''His cousin is strange sometimes but he's not that bad, just happened to like me very much…''
Wtf??? I will never go to that cafe again.

Yep further reinforcing why nice shy guys suck.

Why do you say that? I don't see anything from his behavior that indicates that he is either nice or shy.

From Nina's post, I got the impression that he was both pushy and somewhat menacing.

those are some street smarts Nina, impressive.

some creepy stories.

i think if i ever had a daughter or sister i would have to become a Dexter copycat. the only choice really.

i was at a shopping centre just standing around looking at the people and thinking, when i happened to see a father around my age, maybe a little older standing next to a shop with two prams and two small children. playing with one while the other was in one of the prams. i remember looking at the cute kids and the cheerful dad, a threesome in their own happy little world. it looked a warm scene.

and at that moment the father looked straight at me and we looked at each other, at which point i realised i was smiling.

the look that he gave me was one of serious scrutiny with a hint of accusation, or maybe that was just in my own head, but i almost immediately felt as though from his perpective i could be a predator, a wacko standing alone and creepily grinning as he scoped his kids out.

i couldn't blame him though.

what a reality eh?

we can't even look at each other without the marks of the real creeps effecting everything..

Well he obviously lacked social graces and thought his friendly gesture of paying would leave an impression but he failed epicly. :(

Oh, I see what you're saying.

We'd have to have Nina add more of her impression of him, but she said that guy had followed her through the store. That can be kind of creepy.

I'm actually a real pushover for friendly folks, it doesn't matter man, woman, old, young, If they're nice I'll talk to them and have done so, more times that I can count. This guy wasn't just socially awkward or just making a kind gesture. This guy was right behind me in the store for over 30 min. When I looked at him, 3 different times, he met my gaze and it wasn't the "shy look" there was a boldness in his eye's that spooked me the first time. He didn't ask me if he could buy the coffee, he just handed the girl a 10.00 and said, "I got this" when she brought my coffee over. Then he looked right at me again. He had a look in his eye's that frightened me. I don't get scared all that easy.

I was born and raised in NYC and I've sat on benches and shared my cookies with strangers who wondered over to see what I was sketching. I'm not frightened of folks and I can spot and warm up to a really shy person in a minute because I love the gentleness most shy folks exude. I think I am very approachable to most folks because I am so little, which also makes me a better target for wackos too...
This guy wasn't shy he was trouble...When my gut feeling starts beeping, I start moving back....He threw my whole system into red-alert. If he'd been shy, I would have bought HIM a coffee...

PoWer2--
That is sad...We miss such rich opportunities to meet each other and communicate because we try so hard to NOT be catagorized as some sicko. It's so unfair.

I had a lady come up to me a few weeks ago at a bus stop. ''Hello," she said, grinning. "I've seen you around."

"Oh right," I replied, perturbed.

"I've just had a hysterectomy," she said, still grinning.

"Oh," I replied, a bit more perturbed. "Sorry to hear that."

"The scar is still hurting," she said, still a-grin-grin-grin.

"Oh, sorry to hear that," I said again.

"Well, must be going," she said. "Nice talking to you. Talk again sometime."

"Yeah," I said. "Take care. Bye"

She clearly had mental health issues. Still a bit freaky, though.

In my story, I WAS THE CREEPER. Not so difficult to believe if you know me. ;)

It's a simple story. I had gone to the mall with a couple of friends and had bought a 2lb bag of candy from the candy shop. We'd all gone to find a place to sit and gorge ourselves on sugar while watching people walk by and making fun of them and generally having a good time being annoying little shits (as I am sometimes wont to do).

So I got pretty damned hopped up on candy, and when we went to leave the mall, on the way out we walked by a pair of really pretty girls of an age somewhere close to mine. I have no idea who the hell they were.

I smiled widely, looked directly at them, and said, "Hello, LADIES! Good day, yes?"

I received only some half-frightened, severely-annoyed glances in return.

*sigh*

OK, so it went like this.

>Guy joins ambulance service as a volunteer driver, he's kind of creepy, wears spring-heeled shoes, and is admittedly gay. Ok, whatever
>Notice he stands a little close when he talks to me, goes out of his way to talk to me, always smiles
>Hear from my friend that he woke up one night to find The Guy staring at him in the dark
>Discover large quantities of 'evidence' on the station computer of The Guy browsing and posting on gay fetish forums
>Find pictures of The Guy that are not fit for discussion on these somewhat-kid-friendly forums
>Go to his house, find a web cam in the window pointing at a nearby playground
>Feel very dirty like I need to take a shower

WHAT THE fresia.

>Fire him, thank the gods; still see him around town and he still tries to say hello

******* creep show from HELL. Me and one of the Captains were ready to drag him out in the woods for a good old fashioned execution. Sadly there's no kind of evidence to give to the cops that could result in an arrest...though we did tell 'em about the camera.

People with fetishes of any sort are not usually creepy.

Fetishes develop in the same way that regular sexual interests develop.

So If someone likes someone with a disability, it is not so differerent from someome who likes blondes or black guys.

Most people dont just walk around looking for someone to prey on.

that is NOT what fetishes are about

/but there are creepy people out there. I have a thousand "creepy" guy stories. And I have one creepy guy story in particular that would probably freak half of you out.

And that guy at the store was definatly creepy, soph.

One time I was in the subway late at night, and this women kept talking to me about how she steals cable and has all the porno channels. I dont know if she was hitting on me, or just being weird.

WOAH. creepy stories . . and this one is especially messed up.

I never talk to strangers when I go out. So I've never really met a creeper . . or been thought to be a creeper haha.

Mine told me he loved me recently through a weird text. Idk what to do :/

DO NOT RESPOND. ANY response from you will be taken as a sign that you like him in return. Trust me, guys like that can't take a hint.

Only respond to him if he somehow ends up face to face with you... and if that happens, do NOT pull any punches. Tell him you're not interested and RUUUUUNNNN LIKE fresia.

Then if he persists, call the cops.
