Women's Ideal Hair Style for Men

What exactly do women prefer? Or what I'm trying to ask is what women don't prefer? I ask because I think I can do better. I use gell, a lot of it for my short hair style, but I've noticed it makes my air seem thin and its hard to the touch, is this attractive?

So what are your thoughts?

I personally don't like gel. I actually just don't like short hair in general. Let it grow out a bit. I think for me, regardless of the hair's texture, I prefer it kind of long. (but not LONG long, like enough to tie back or anything)
